#MyUltramanMemory starts during summer 2016 when I was not even that into Ultraman just yet, then fast forward to my first ever Hero Premier last year and this year’s Hero Premier just 2 weeks ago. I made new friends both local and international thanks to Ultraman ☺️

It all started with two VHS tapes I bought at a Godzilla convention’s dealer floor.

One, an Ultraman Towards the future tape I got in 1996.

And the other the Expressions in Animation tape with the 1966 series’ first 4 episodes the next year.

すべては、ゴジラ・コンベンションのディーラーフロアで買った2本のVHSテープから始まりました。

1本は1996年に買った『ウルトラマン 未来への冒険』。

もう1本は翌年買った『Expressions in Animation』。1966年シリーズの最初の4話を収録したテープです。

If we’re talking about my favourite #MyUltramanMemory, it’s gotta be last year when Mr. Tomoya Warabino visited my country for the Blazar movie fan-screening. It’s the first time I got to see an Ultraman actor with my own eyes.

I have been watching Ultraman since I was a child, but everything changed in 2020 when I watched Ultraman Z. That year, I made a bold decision to name my son Zestium, after Ultraman Z’s Zestium Kosen, as he was born the same year the show was released. I hope he will grow up inspired by the strength and kindness portrayed by Ultraman Z in the series, as well as the powerful message in its opening song lyrics.

Years later, he started watching Ultraman with me. In July 2024, we visited the Ultraman Expo in Taiwan, and in December, we attended Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) just to get a close-up opportunity to meet his hero, Ultraman Z. The moment Ultraman Z appeared, my son’s eyes lit up with pure joy.

During the meet-and-greet, Ultraman Z carried him for a photo. It was a surreal and unforgettable moment. From childhood to fatherhood, Ultraman has been part of our lives and will always be a part of Our Ultraman Memory. #MyUltramanMemory

子供の頃からウルトラマンを見てきましたが、2020年に『ウルトラマンZ』を観てすべてが変わりました。その年、息子に『ウルトラマンZ』のゼスティウム鉱泉にちなんで『ゼスティウム』と名付けるという大胆な決断をしました。息子は『ウルトラマンZ』の放送開始年に生まれたからです。作中でウルトラマンZが描く強さと優しさ、そしてオープニングソングの歌詞に込められた力強いメッセージに感化されて成長してほしいと思っています。

それから数年経ち、息子は私と一緒にウルトラマンを見るようになりました。2024年7月には台湾のウルトラマンエキスポを訪れ、12月にはシンガポールコミコン（SGCC）に参加しました。ヒーローであるウルトラマンZに間近で会える機会を得るためでした。ウルトラマンZが登場した瞬間、息子の目は純粋な喜びで輝きました。

握手会では、ウルトラマンZが息子を抱っこして写真を撮ってくれました。それは非現実的で忘れられない瞬間でした。幼少期から父親になるまで、ウルトラマンは私たちの生活の一部であり、これからもずっと私たちのウルトラマンメモリーの一部であり続けるでしょう。#MyUltramanMemory

〜初めてのウルトラマン展〜

小さい頃兄が見ていたくらいの記憶しかなかったウルトラマン。今では彼の影響でウルトラマン見るようになった！
見ててもキャラクターの名前も毎回一致しないのが難点、、
わたしの推しはピグモンとブースカ推し！！

My favorite memory of Ultraman is discovering them and learning about them. Especially Ultraman Zero when I discover some simularities between us. For example we both dont back down when it come to our loved ones. We both also did a mistake’s that we regret but thats what make us who we are today. I may not be a Ultraman but they inspire me to be the best version of myself

Back in 2020 during the lockdowns was when I first started to watch Ultraman. Obviously the events that happened that year were very traumatic, but I was also going through some personal upheaval and Ultraman became a great source of comfort for me during that time.

A lifetime of being a Godzilla fan, discovering Ultraman was like meeting someone you always knew of in school. You never really interacted with them, but discover that you would’ve been best friends. And you’re just mad at yourself for not meeting earlier.

Ultraman Z was my first Ultra show and to this day remains a personal favorite.

I watched Ultraman Orb on blu-ray next because of Juggler and it was the first figure I bought.

I have now watched every Ultra series to date and it has been a huge influence on my personal and creative lives. I’m currently in the middle of my next fan film because I love being in this world with Giants of Light.

2020年のロックダウン中に、初めてウルトラマンを見始めました。その年に起こった出来事は確かにトラウマでしたが、同時に私自身も大きな葛藤を抱えており、そんな時期にウルトラマンは大きな慰めとなりました。

生まれてこのかた、ゴジラファンだった私にとって、ウルトラマンと出会ったのは、まるで学校でずっと知っていた人に再会したような感覚でした。実際に交流したことはなかったのに、親友になれたはずの人に再会したのです。そして、もっと早く出会っていればよかったと、ただただ悔やみました。

ウルトラマンZは私にとって初めてのウルトラ作品で、今でも一番のお気に入りです。

次にジャグラーがきっかけでウルトラマンオーブをブルーレイで見ました。初めて買ったフィギュアもオーブでした。

今ではウルトラシリーズは全て見てきました。私生活でも創作活動でも、ウルトラマンは大きな影響を与えてくれました。光の巨人たちとこの世界で生活できることが本当に嬉しいので、現在、次のファンフィルムを制作中です。

どう生きていけばいいのかさえ分からなかった日々に、私を救ってくれた人。あの時の気持ちを、私は決して完全に説明することはできません。なぜなら、ウルトラマンは存在そのものだからです。ウルトラマンは愛です。ウルトラマンは生きる光です。

衝撃的な最終回に痺れました！

自分が生まれた頃は丁度昭和シリーズの「80」が終わってウルトラマンって言ったら昭和シリーズの再放送かパイロット版のネオス&セブン21、映画のゼアス、後はビデオ作品でグーレトやパワード位しか観る機会が無くて、テレビで放送された「ティガ」はマジで嬉しかった。(リプに続く)
